Terms of use
Effective October 22, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and NextOne Labs LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) for the ReaderNext app for Android (“the app”) and the website readernext.com. By downloading, installing or using the app or the website, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. The Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your use of Google Play. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Android devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, as long as you follow these terms. The app and its name, logo, design, artwork and code belong to NextOne Labs LLC and are protected by law. These terms do not give you any rights to them other than this licence.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age in your country, to use the app. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and to any purchase.
Free version and ads
The app is free to download and use. The free version shows ads, and some features are part of ReaderNext Pro. Some Pro features can be unlocked for a single use by watching a short video ad. How ads work, and your choices about them, are explained in the privacy policy.
ReaderNext Pro
ReaderNext Pro unlocks additional features and removes ads. It is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. The price, in your local currency and including any applicable taxes, is shown in the app and on Google Play before you buy. We may change prices for future purchases and renewals.
Subscriptions renew automatically
Subscriptions are billed to your Google Play payment method at the start of each billing period and renew automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. If the price of your subscription goes up, Google Play will notify you in advance and, where required, ask for your agreement. If a renewal payment fails, Google Play may give you a grace period to fix it; Pro may be paused until payment succeeds.
Free trial
The yearly plan may include a free trial; its length is shown before you start it. You won’t be charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the yearly subscription starts automatically and your Google Play payment method is charged the yearly price shown in the app before you started the trial. Trials are for new subscribers and are available under Google Play’s eligibility rules, generally once per Google account.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store app: tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → ReaderNext → Cancel subscription. In ReaderNext, Settings → Manage subscription opens the same page. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. When you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. Cancelling during a free trial ends the trial, and you are not charged.
Refunds
Payments are processed by Google Play, and refunds are governed by Google Play’s refund policies. You can request a refund through your Google Play order history. Except where Google Play grants a refund or the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partially used subscription periods.
Lifetime purchase
The lifetime option is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and never renews. It unlocks ReaderNext Pro for as long as we make the app available, on Android devices signed in to the Google account you used to buy it. If Pro doesn’t appear on a device, use Settings → Restore purchases. Pro features can change over time as we improve the app, but we won’t take away the core Pro benefits you paid for.
Your books and content
Your books, documents, notes and saved articles remain yours. The app processes them on your device, and we receive no rights to them. You are responsible for the content you open, save, sync, translate or listen to, and for having the right to use it. ReaderNext does not open copy-protected (DRM) books, and you may not use it to get around copy protection or any other technical measure.
When you save a web article, the app fetches that page from its website for your personal reading. Please respect the website’s terms and copyright, and don’t redistribute what you save without permission.
On-device AI, translation and listening
AI summaries, explanations and answers are generated automatically on your device by Google’s on-device model, where supported. Translations, text recognition and read-aloud voices are also automatic. They may be incomplete, inaccurate or inappropriate, and they are not professional advice. Check anything important against the original text. You can report an AI answer with “Report this answer”. Some of these features depend on Google services and models, and on your device, and may not be available everywhere.
Sync, backups and your data
Sync folders, sync files and backup files are stored in places you choose, and their safety depends on that storage. Because we don’t hold your library, we cannot recover it for you. Keep your own backups of anything important.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the app or website to break the law or anyone else’s rights; not to copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent or sublicense the app; not to reverse engineer or decompile it except where the law allows; not to interfere with its ads, purchases, licensing or security; not to click ads fraudulently or use automated means to generate ad views or rewards; and not to send abusive, unlawful or excessive reports to our AI report service.
Other services
The app relies on services provided by others: Google Play (downloads and purchases), Google Play services and ML Kit (text recognition, translation and on-device AI), Google AdMob (ads in the free version), your device’s text-to-speech engine, and the storage providers you choose for sync and backups. Their own terms and policies apply to those services, and we are not responsible for them.
Disclaimer
We work hard to make ReaderNext reliable, but the app and website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t promise that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will open every file, or that AI, translation or text-recognition output will be correct.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, NextOne Labs LLC and its members, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, books, notes, profits or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the app, the website or these terms, even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app or website is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for ReaderNext Pro in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived or limited by contract.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify NextOne Labs LLC against claims arising from your misuse of the app or your breach of these terms.
Ending these terms
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it; remember to cancel any subscription in Google Play. We may suspend or end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. We may also change or stop offering the app or features; if we stop offering the app entirely, we will try to give reasonable notice, and existing subscriptions will be handled under Google Play’s policies.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country whose laws give you the right to bring claims in your local courts, or to the protection of mandatory local consumer law, nothing in these terms takes those rights away. Please contact us first; most problems can be solved quickly.
General
These terms, with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the app and website. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce a term right away, we don’t give up the right to do so later. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them to a successor to the app. Google is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, if a change is significant, let you know in the app. Changes don’t apply to purchases made before them where the law says so. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
